BREAKING NEWS FROM JAMB Says Candidates No Longer Need Scratch Cards

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has scrapped the use of scratch cards for any of its services and transactions, adding that it would now be using the platform of pin vending to check all forms of fraudulent practices which was prevalent with the use of scratch cards. A statement issued on Sunday by the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, reports the board’s Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, as declaring in a paper he delivered during a meeting of the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities that the use of scratch cards is “archaic”. He also demanded that the Federal Government should revert to the former system where serving Vice Chancellors of Universities were made chairmen of the Governing Board of JAMB. “The decision is as a result of its consistent subjection to fraudulent practices, the use of scratch cards is archaic and it is the drive by JAMB to also promote accountability in line with government’s...

BREAKING NEWS JAMB Result Validity Extended To 3 Years By The Senate

  The Nigerian Senate today passed the amendment to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Act into law. In the amendment, the the Senate strengthened the Board to allow the results of students in the annual examination be valid for more than one year. This implies that JAMB result is expected to now be valid for more than a year. According to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, Senator Jibrin Barau the amendments will further strengthen the Admissions Board in its responsibilities. Senate President Bukola Saraki, appreciated his distinguished colleagues for their work towards the passage of the bill commended that the new amendments will indeed bring financial relief to students as well as parents and reduce bottlenecks and corruption in the admission process.

NYSC Propsective Batch B Corps Members Can Now Check the Approved Senate List IS OUT

All Prospective 2016 Batch B National Youth Service Corps Members can now proceed to check the senate approved mobilization list for their various institutions online. To check, visit: http://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/VerifySenateLists -Select your Institution (i.e School you graduated from), -Enter your Matriculation Number and Surname in the spaces provided, -Select your date of birth -Click on the "Search" button to access the list. N.B: You are to note that the uploading of names is still going on and will end on Friday, 14th October 2016. That means you can always check back if you cannot find your name at the moment.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ON-LINE SCREENING FOR DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES -Visit the UNN Direct Entry Portal: http://unnportal.unn.edu.ng/AdmissionShopping.aspx -Log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at any Commercial Bank. -With the Payment Invoice, the candidate is requested to pay Two Thousand five hundred Naira Only (N2,500.00) application fee.
